Three things we would rather you heard from us
The road is dirt, there is no Wi-Fi, and the pool is heated by a fire you tend yourself. None of that is a problem — but all of it is better known in advance.

Getting here
The road to the resort is a dirt road. Drive carefully, and slowly after rain. It is passable in an ordinary car, but it is not tar.
There is no Wi-Fi
By design. If you need to be online for work, this is not the weekend for it.
The pool
It is a fire, not a thermostat
Every listing for this place says “private heated pool”, and it is true — but it is worth knowing what heats it. A wood-fired kettle, which you feed, on the evening you want to swim.

Each cabin's splash pool is heated by a traditional wood-fired kettle. It needs a fire burning continuously - let it go out and the water stops warming.
Roughly five bags
Two bags of firewood come with your stay. Properly warming the pool takes around five, depending on how hot you want it. More wood, bigger fire, warmer water.
Extra wood is R20 a bag
Bought on the property, or bring your own. We provide firelighters and a lighter. Please leave the lighter in the cabin for the next guests.
We will start it for you
If you have never lit one before, say so on arrival and someone will get it going.

Keeping it the way you found it
Relax. Reconnect. Respect. — the short version of everything below.
Maximum occupancy
Please stick to the number of guests booked for your unit. Additional visitors are not permitted without prior approval.
Quiet hours
22:00 to 07:00. Sound carries further here than you would think, and the quiet is the point of the place.
No open fires
Please use the designated braai facilities. The pool kettle is the exception - that fire is contained by design.
Smoking
Not permitted inside the units. Please use the designated areas.
Pets
No pets unless arranged with management beforehand.
Respect nature
Please do not disturb the wildlife, and leave the plants, rocks and everything else where you found them.
Alcohol
Enjoyed responsibly. No excessive drinking or disorderly conduct.
Safety and security
Please look after your belongings. The resort is not responsible for loss or damage to personal items.
These come from the resort's own house rules. Failure to comply can mean being asked to leave without a refund — rare, and never for anything accidental.
